Role Description The humanitarian affairs officer is a volunteer, remote role focused on supporting the planning and coordination of humanitarian initiatives. Main tasks include supporting community needs, contributing to the design of outreach and support programs, and maintaining regular communication with partners and community members. The officer will help organize online meetings, prepare reports and briefings, and assist in developing training and awareness materials aligned with the organization’s principles. The role also involves monitoring humanitarian activities, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with other volunteers to ensure that humanitarian projects are effective, ethical, and responsive to community needs. Main qualifications Candidates should possess skills in community service and community engagement for effective support to individuals and groups. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication across diverse audiences. Candidates should possess training-related skills to help develop and deliver educational or awareness sessions. Candidates should understand public safety dynamics to coordinate appropriately with relevant authorities when needed. Experience in humanitarian work, social services, or nonprofit initiatives is beneficial. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate with a multicultural team. Respect for Islamic values and willingness to operate within an ethical, safe work environment. Fluency in English and French; additional language skills are an asset.
