We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.  Position Overview Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services, Surgery, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the ADVANCED WOUND CARE NURSE is responsible for the overall provision of expert nursing care for patients with complex lower limb wounds; advancing nursing practice in this area of specialization; and performing other related duties as assigned.Experience

Three (3) years of recent experience in surgical nursing required. Preference will be given to those candidates with specialized wound care nursing experience. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Baccalaureate of Nursing required, or equivalent combination of education and experience at the Baccalaureate level will be considered. Successful completion of a recognized advanced wound care program required including, but not limited to, the Interprofessional Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course (IIWCC), the Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence (NSWOC) program.* Experience with complex lower limb assessment and advanced wound management preferred. Registration with Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Canada (NSWOCC), the International Interdisciplinary Wound Care Course (IIWCC) or equivalent wound care professional organization, preferred.

    *NOTE:  If there are no applicants meeting the advanced wound care nursing program requirement, consideration will be given to those applicants meeting the enrollment eligibility requirements for a recognized program. Successful completion of the Program must be achieved within one year from commencement in position as a condition of employment. (consideration in timeline is considered based on course availability).Certification/Licensure/Registration

Current CRNM registration required. Qualifications and Skills
