Role Description The Board Member role is a remote volunteer position responsible for providing strategic guidance and governance to support ECHO’s mission and long-term sustainability. Day-to-day activities may include attending virtual board meetings, reviewing organizational performance reports, and contributing to policy development and oversight. Board Members collaborate with other board members and leadership to set priorities, align programs with strategic goals, and ensure responsible stewardship of resources. The role may also involve supporting fundraising efforts, representing ECHO at virtual events, and serving as an ambassador to expand the organization’s network and impact. Qualifications Experience in nonprofit governance, board service, or organizational leadership. Skills in strategic planning, policy development, and decision-making. Background in education, child development, social impact, or community engagement is highly beneficial. Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities. Comfort with remote work, including use of videoconferencing and digital collaboration tools. Demonstrated commitment to educational equity, inclusion, and supporting children from diverse backgrounds. Prior experience in fundraising, advocacy, or stakeholder outreach is an advantage. Ability to dedicate sufficient time to board meetings, committee work, and ongoing responsibilities.
